A pair of local Cal Ripken baseball teams began bracket play in dominating fashion Saturday.
The Mountain Home 12s won their quarterfinal game in the Cal Ripken 12-Year-Old Major/70 North Arkansas State Tournament at Springdale after shutting out Bentonville 23-0. Dillon Drewry, Isaac House and Jacob Czantskowski combined for a perfect game as the mercy rule was invoked after the fourth inning.
The Mountain Home Sharks advanced to the semifinals of the Cal Ripken Nine-Year-Old North Arkansas State Tournament in Blytheville. The Sharks routed Springdale by a final of 18-2.
