
(AP) – Cleanup efforts are underway after a small tornado swept
through parts of Jonesboro. Officials say no one was hurt in the EF-1 twister
that struck Monday.The National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee, says the Monday morning
storm had winds of up to 105 mph (168 kph). Emergency officials say that the
twister ripped a roof from an apartment complex and downed power lines and
trees.

The tornado was on the ground for less than a minute.
Jonesboro E911 Director Jeff Presley says the city was fortunate that the
storm struck early when few people were on the road. He says the tornado spun up
with very little warning.
Forecasters say Monday’s tornado was the 33rd twister in Arkansas so far this
year.
