A section of the Calico Rock Museum will be named in honor of a significant property gift by Executive Director Gloria Sanders and her husband Ben. A dedication of the Tom Tomlinson Art and Science Center will be held later this year once it opens.

Tomlinson is the late son of Gloria Sanders. The future art and science center was formerly Don Quixote’s Restaurant where he served as the chef. His life was cut short a few years ago after a fire at his residence. The Sanders donated a portion of the property’s cost to the museum through a bargain sale agreement.

The Tom Tomlinson Art and Science Center will include gallery space for the museum’s art collection, a science museum with interactive exhibits, a space for artists in residence, meeting rooms, a classroom/studio/science lab and a new retail store.
