Like the Mountain Home Police Department, Marion County Sheriff Clinton Evans has replaced four vehicles in his department’s fleet at a considerable savings he did not anticipate when he began shopping for vehicles. While the vehicles are new to the Sheriff’s Office, they are low-mileage used cars.

Sheriff Evans says he began shopping for SUV’s hoping to add to the department’s fleet.

Evans says he was able to negotiate the purchase of four low-mileage Crown Victorias at $6,500 each, including shipping them to the door of the Sheriff’s Office.

While he says he wasn’t able to expand the fleet as he originally planned, he hopes to return to that endeavor in the fall.
