A former Arkansas Razorback has been selected as the new head baseball coach at Mountain Home High School. Tim Carver was chosen by the Mountain Home School Board Thursday night out of a field of 13 applicants. Athletic Director Mitch Huskey conducted interviews with six of the 13 last week.
Carver played four years at Arkansas from 2009 to 2012 where he was a shortstop. During his time there, the Hogs made two trips to the College World Series in Omaha. He was selected in the 19th round of the Major League Baseball draft and played one season at Lakewood, the Philadelphia Phillies Class A team. He then returned to Arkansas as a student assistant in 2014-15. Last season he was an assistant coach at West Plains High School.
The 28 year old Fayetteville native says he is thrilled to take over a program in a baseball town.
