A Mountain Home woman, 35-year-old Justinna Curlee, was arrested last week following a call to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office of a woman “passed out” behind the wheel of her vehicle just off Highway 5 south.
According to the arrest affidavit, an Arkansas State Police corporal responded to the scene where he observed the vehicle running and the driver, who appeared to be asleep, behind the wheel. The officer woke the driver, who advised she was waiting on her sister. The officer noted Curlee’s voice was very low and her eyelids very droopy.
When the officer asked for Curlee’s license and insurance, she produced an insurance card but did not have a license with her. A check with the Arkansas Crime Information Center database revealed Curlee was wanted on a Mountain Home Police Department warrant, and her driver’s license was suspended.
When Curlee’s vehicle was inventoried, a backpack behind the driver’s seat was located holding two containers with a small amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Curlee was charged with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, all felony counts, as well as four misdemeanor counts.
She was released after posting a $5,000 bond.
