A Gassville man who was given a second chance by the victim of a 2015 theft, blew that chance when he took more property from the same person.
Jimmy Cagle pled guilty to stealing and pawning a .22 caliber lever action rifle sometime in mid-November 2015 and was given six years probation during a session of Baxter County Cicuit Court Thursday.
When the rifle theft was first noticed, the victim, who was able to recover the firearm, told the police that he did not want to press charges against the 39-year-old Cagle who had worked for him at one time. But, the victim made his offer conditional — that Cagle not be involved in any other criminal activity.
Cagle squandered the chance when he allegedly took tools from the same victim and pawned them at different times between July and October last year. Those thefts were handled in District Court in Gassville, but a theft of property case was set up in Circuit Court involving the rifle.
