The Mountain Home Fire Department and the Mountain Home Police Department are hosting an open house beginning at 9:00 Saturday morning at 720 South Hickory. The public is invited to stop by the fire station to learn about both department’s day-to-day operations. Equipment that might show up in the case of an emergency at home, work or school will be available and on display.
Mountain Home Professional Fire Fighters Association President Travis Dover says the last time an event like this was held in the community was around 1988. He says the department’s strong points will be highlighted along with the areas which they hope to improve. An understanding of what is needed in the event of an emergency helps demonstrate what both departments need.
