Ozark Opportunities offers several assistance programs

Ozark Opportunities Inc. is reminding the public of several programs which offer assistance to those in need. The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program is one program which assists low-income households cope with the high costs of cooling their homes during the summer months or heating their homes during winter months. These are one-time programs per year and will run through a specific date or until funds have been exhausted. For summer the deadline is September 30 or until funds run out.Another program offered by Ozark Opportunities include SUCCESS which stands for Succeed at Understanding and Conquering Challenges to Establish Stability and Self-Reliance. The program says it helps individuals and families with self-reliance and healthy interdependence with the community.

Other programs include ESG, which helps with homelessness prevention and rapid rehousing, and housing assistance through the HOPE revolving loan.

All applicants needing financial assistance will be required to furnish proof of income for all household members for the month prior to application. An identification will be required for the person applying. Other information may be requested at the time of application including proof of resources. Offices are open to the public and applicants should call their local outreach worker to schedule an appointment. Appointments take precedent, however walk-ins are accepted.

Office Hours for Baxter and Boone Counties are Mondays from 8:00 to 11:30 and 1:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon. Marion, Newton, and Searcy Counties are open Tuesdays. Hours for Marion are 8:00 to 11:30 and 1:00 to 4:00. Newton and Searcy County’s hours are 8:30 to 11:30 and 1:30 to 3:30 in the afternoon.
