
Gordon Cox, who is already an inmate in the North Central Unit of the state prison system at Calico Rock on an earlier conviction, has been given seven years in prison on drug-related charges.Cox entered a guilty plea to the new charges against him and was sentenced during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.
The 48-year-old Cox was arrested in late March when methamphetamine and paraphernalia used to ingest the drug were found in his residence along County Road 56 during a compliance visit by probation and parole officers.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed in the case, officers found three loaded syringes containing a clear liquid that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, several used syringes believed to have been used to inject methamphetamine and various smoking devices and other paraphernalia used for smoking marijuana.
