A Summit man, 23-year-old Kennneth Godat, was arrested Monday following a domestic battery incident involving a 17-week pregnant woman.

Marion County Sheriff Clinton Evans says officers responded to a residence along Emanuel Street in Summit following a 911 call.

According to a statement taken at the scene, Godat is alleged to have slapped the pregnant female in the face and pushed her to the ground. Once the female was on the ground, Godat is alleged to have kicked her in the stomach.   The female had scratches and bruises on both shoulders and a large abrasion and bruising to her right temple/face area.

While officers were on the scene conducting the investigation, Godat was located and taken into custody without incident.

He was transported to the Marion County Sheriff’s Department and booked on a felony charge of second degree battery. His bond was set at $20,000.
