A Mountain Home man 37-year-old Deric James Holt was arrested Saturday after a traffic stop and is being held on a $5,500 bond, with a no hold bond for a parole violation, after drugs were found. He was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.Holt claimed the drugs were not his.

According to the arrest affidavit, he was pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt. The officer says when asking Holt to step out of the vehicle he seemed nervous. He gave police consent to search him and his vehicle. Nothing was found on his person, however between the drivers seat and the console of the vehicle an amount of less than two grams of suspected methamphetamine was found.

Holt maintained the drugs were not his because the car didn’t belong to him.
