
It’s week two of Arkansas’s high school football season, and Mountain Home will have its first road test of the season. The Bombers will be in Jonesboro on Friday as they meet Nettleton.
Mountain Home comes into the game at 0-1 on the season. The Bombers began the campaign last week with a 20-point loss to Harrison. Nettleton is 1-0 after beating up on Pocahontas, and Mountain Home head coach Bryan Mattox says the Raiders are tough on both sides of the ball.

Kickoff at Raider Field is scheduled for seven p.m. Friday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com. Coverage begins at 5:30 with Arkansas High School Gameday.
Yellville-Summit will also have its first road game of the season. The Panthers’ opponent for week two will be Salem.
Yellville-Summit is currently 0-1 on the year. The Panthers started the season last week at home with a loss to Paris. Salem has a record of 1-0 to start the year. The Greyhounds’ season opener was a 22-point victory at Mountain View.
Kickoff at Greyhound Stadium is set for 7:00.
Elsewhere on the local Arkansas schedule, Melbourne travels to Cave City, Marshall makes the trip to Rose Bud, Mountain View hosts the third-ranked team in Class 2A from Conway Christian, and Harrison entertains Siloam Springs.
There are two games pairing teams ranked in the Arkansas Associated Press Top Ten. Second-ranked Bryant heads to number three Fayetteville, and number nine Cabot is home against tenth-ranked El Dorado.
For Missouri, this marks the fourth week of the high school fooball season. Among area schools, West Plains travels to Springfield to take on Hillcrest, Hollister makes the trip to Bolivar, Forsyth hosts Diamond for its home opener, Branson heads to Ozark, Ava travels to Mountain View-Liberty, Willow Springs entertains Mountain Grove, and Thayer makes the trip to Salem, Missouri.
In high school softball, Bakersfield heads to Alton, and Dora travels to Neelyville.
In fall baseball, Dora is home against Ellington.
