The Melodikats featured at final block party on the square

The Melodikats are this week’s headliner for the final series of Mountain Home’s Friday Night Block Party on the Square. The show is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 Friday evening. Holy Smokes will be serving barbecue. Baxter Historical Society will be selling ice cream sundaes. There will also be funnel cakes, lemonade, fried pies and iced coffee. This week’s sponsor is Andrew Bailey, Attorney at Law.According to Event Coordinator Ron Shire The Melodikats are a classic rock and pop hits cover band, playing songs by Steely Dan, Michael McDonald, Huey Lewis and the News, Doobie Brothers and even John Mayer.

Eddy King is a keyboardist and vocalist and his wife, Vonda King, sings and plays keys and percussion. Tim Martin is also a vocalist. The bassist is Mike Walker. Steve Kesler rounds out the ‘Kats rhythm section on the drums. Pete Adams sings lead and background vocals and plays electric and acoustic mandolin, fiddle, keys, bass and his signature melodica. Rob Styer plays guitar.
