James Snedecor of Gassville was given three years in prison after pleading guilty to drug-related charges during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.Snedecor ran into trouble when parole and probation officers from the Arkansas Community Corrections went to his home on U.S. Highway 62/412 West to make a compliance check in June. Snedecor had been convicted of multiple drug-related felonies, according to the probable cause affidavit filed in his case.During the check, officers found a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine as well as digital scales and plastic bags often used in methamphetamine sales.

The officers also found a number of glass pipes described as appearing to have been used to smoke both methamphetamine and marijuana.

Snedecor told Circuit Judge John Putman that he had medical issues and requested that he be allowed to remain free until bed space opened in the state prison system. Judge Putman denied the request saying he felt it best if Snedecor remained in the county jail until he could be transferred to prison.
