Amanda Kay Coker of Yellville pled guilty to taking and using a credit card belonging to a relative of her roommate and was sentenced to five years probation during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.
The card was reported stolen in mid-December last year. The roommate is reported to have found her relative’s credit card in Coker’s purse.
The victim said the card had been used in Mountain Home and video surveillance was obtained from the business where the card was used. The video showed the 39-year-old Coker using the card at the store on both December 6 and 7. A total of about $270 was put on the card, according to court records.
Coker was sentenced under provisions of Act 346, meaning that if she stays out of trouble during her probation period, she can apply to the court to have her record sealed. She was also ordered to pay slightly more than $270 in restitution.
