Earlier Saturday afternoon, between 1:00 and 3:30, the mother of the victim’s grandchildren and boyfriend was at her home visiting. Manual says her purse was left unattended at least once during the visit.
Officers responded and later learned the complainants credit card was used at four local businesses between 4:00 and 7:30 that same afternoon and evening. A that point, approximately $190 was spent using the credit card but Manual says the continuing investigation may reveal additional purchases and an additional suspect.
While investigating officers viewed video at a local business allegedly showing Springer using the stolen card to make a purchase.
Officers went to a local apartment complex to speak with him. When they approached he started to leave the residence by attempting to exit a window, but then followed officers commands to open the door to the apartment. He agreed to answer officers questions after being read his rights.
After the questioning, Springer was placed under arrest.
