A Mountain Home man, 28-year-old Javis Curlee, who stood before Circuit Judge Gordon Webb August 31st on felony drug charges, was back in the Baxter County Detention Center Tuesday, August 5th charged with multiple felony offenses, is back in jail on similar charges as of Wednesday night.
Mountain Home Police Chief Carry Manuel says Curlee was arrested after an officer noticed Curlee driving the same illegal vehicle for which he was arrested on September 5th. In that arrest, the police officer learned Curlee’s driver’s license was suspended. During a search of Curlee’s vehicle, officers located a substance believed to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
He was charged with driving while license suspended or revoked, possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, no proof of liability insurance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In his most recent arrest, the officer knew Curlee’s license was suspended or revoked. The officer pulled behind Curlee’s vehicle and also noticed it didn’t have a license plate. When asked to exit the vehicle and empty out his pockets, Curlee dropped several items on the ground, including a plastic bag field testing positive for methamphetamine, which Curlee tried to conceal with his foot.
Curlee was again booked into jail this time with bond set at $25,000, however according to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office website he has a bond revocation charge.
He was also charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, along with driving on a suspended license, no insurance and failure to register a vehicle.
