The Mountain Home City Council passed a resolution Thursday evening levying a two-mill city tax on the county tax collector’s books for 2018. City Clerk Brian Plumlee says the city millage rate has remained at two mills for more than 20 years.

The council also gave its approval to an ordinance authorizing the issuance and sale of almost $3.5 million of water and sewer revenue refunding bonds. The purpose of the ordinance is to authorize refinancing the city’s outstanding water and sewer revenue improvement and refunding bonds. Plumlee says both the ordinance and emergency clause passed, with no opposition throughout the three required readings prior to passage.

The council approved Mayor Joe Dillard’s appointments of Gene Bradley to a three-year term and Kevin Bodenhamer to fill an unexpired term on the city’s cemetery board. Bodenhamer will fill the remaining two years of Alan Arnold’s term.

In addition, the council postponed until its next meeting a request to transfer a 2016 truck from the Street Department to the Parks and Recreation Department.
