Jasandra Collins of Cotter, who was arrested in mid-September last year on a variety of mainly drug-related offenses, entered a guilty plea to the charges against her during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday and was sentenced to five years probation.
The 28-year-old Collins was arrested after Baxter County Deputies responded to a trespassing complaint at an apartment complex at 210 South Avenue in Cotter. The deputies made contact with Collins and a male companion, and while they were attempting to determine if the couple had permission to use the apartment, deputies saw Collins stuffing something between the railings on the back deck of the apartment.
The deputies questioned Collins about the object she was attempting to hide, and she surrendered a small plastic bag containing a substance field-testing positive for methamphetamine.
When deputies went inside the apartment to check for other people who might be there without permission, they found more drugs, including Suboxone and suspected marijuana. In addition, three syringes and a set of scales were located.
Collins admitted that the items belonged to her.
