When Curlee was searched, he was allegedly found to be in possession of a syringe. In addition, there was a loaded .22 caliber long rifle near where Curlee had been sitting. Court records indicate that Curlee had been convicted of a felony in Hawaii in 2011, making it illegal for him to be in contact with weapons.
Judge Gordon Webb set Curlee’s bond in all five of his cases at $25,000 and put him on house arrest except to leave home for appointments with a doctor or lawyer. He is not to have drugs or alcohol in his possession.
The judge warned that “this is the last time we are going to set a bond on this individual.”
The 28-year-old Curlee’s frequent encounters with local law enforcement officers began March 25th when he was arrested after a bag containing 1.5 grams of a white crystalline substance field-testing positive for methamphetamine was found in the center console of his vehicle during what was a routine traffic stop for fictitious tags. When stopped, Curlee told the officer he also did not have a driver’s license and could not produce proof of insurance.
On March 31st, Curlee and a female were located at a residence along Eden Pond Road. The female, Haley Sullivan, had multiple outstanding arrest warrants against her. The officers found a small box sitting on a countertop containing a bag holding a crystalline substances and a partially loaded syringe, along with other syringes and small plastic bags used for packaging drugs for sale and a set of digital scales. Sullivan was taken into custody on the outstanding warrants and Curlee was arrested and charged with possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
On September 5th, Curlee was pulled over driving a vehicle with a cracked windshield. The officer reported he also knew Curlee had a suspended driver’s license. In the probable cause affidavit, the officer reported Curlee was attempting to hide his face as he passed the officer. When Curlee’s vehicle was searched, a small plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance field-testing positive for methamphetamine was found. During this stop, Curlee was also not able to provide proof of insurance.
On September 13th, Curlee was again stopped for driving on a suspended license and drugs were again found in his vehicle. Curlee also had no bill of sale for the vehicle and could provide no proof of insurance.
Curlee now has five active criminal cases filed against him in Circuit Court. Three of the arrests were made by the same Mountain Home Police Officer.
When 14th Judicial District Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Kerry Chism recited the list of arrests and charges against Curlee — including the fact he had been arrested and charged three times in this month alone — Judge Webb observed that Curlee “is going for some kind of record, I guess.”
