Ordinances amending the timeline for collection of the voter-approved sales tax initiatives for the expansion of the Baxter County Detention Center highlight the Baxter County Quorum Courts 11-item October meeting agenda. The quorum court will meet Tuesday evening at 6:00 in the courtroom on the second floor of the Baxter County Courthouse.The two proposed ordinances follow the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration advising county officials the timeline for the collection of the two sales tax initiatives must be amended to begin and end on a calendar quarter basis.
The agenda also includes the third reading of two ordinances that would take an area from the Henderson Area Fire Protection District and move it into Hand Cove Fire Protection District to ensure each district’s fire station is within five miles of the other district’s border to maintain their ISO ratings for mutual aid.
Resolutions confirming appointments to the Buford and Midway Volunteer Fire Protection District Boards of Commissioners will also be presented.
