Two men were arrested by Baxter County Sheriff’s Deputies early Tuesday morning, in separate incidents, after being found passed out behind their vehicle’s steering wheel at two different gas stations. According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, 34-year-old Joshua Alan Hannaford of Gainesville and 49-year-old Stacey Ray Mooney of Mountain Home were both found with drugs and face felony charges.Montgomery says at approximately 2:58 Tuesday morning, Corporal Rockie Morrell was dispatched to the Citgo station at 6160 Highway 5 North on a complaint of a man slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle. While enroute to the location, Morrell found the vehicle wrecked at the intersection of Highway 5 North and Dillard Drive, a short distance from the Citgo station. The driver was identified as Hannaford.

During the course of the investigation, Morrell determined Hannaford was under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested for DWI-drugs and other traffic offenses and was taken to the Detention Center. Before entering he was asked if he had any illegal substances on him, which he denied. Once Hannaford was thoroughly searched, he was found to be in possession of approximately 1.2 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Hannaford was booked on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and furnishing, possessing, or using prohibited articles. He also faces several other misdemeanor charges, is being held on a $9,150 bond and is scheduled to appear in court.

The second incident involved a complaint Deputy Craig Gates took from Casey’s Convenience Store, on Highway 5 North in Mountain Home, at approximately 4:15 Tuesday morning. Another man was apparently inside a vehicle on the parking lot, passed out, and couldn’t be awakened. The man had allegedly been there since 1:00 a.m.

After Gates made contact with Mooney he was searched, and the deputy found approximately .10 of a gram of methamphetamine. He was taken to the Detention Center and booked on a charge of felony possession of controlled substance.

Mooney was released from custody after posting a $3,000 bond and will appear in court to answer to the charges.
