A Colorado couple has been arrested in Douglas County and charged in connection with a kidnapping incident in Colorado involving two juveniles.
Officials with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office say, working with the Ava Police Department on Monday, the juveniles were located in Drury and 38-year-old Samuel Deatherage and 34-year-old Trisha Deatherage of Cotopaxi, Colorado were taken into custody. The pair was arrested on a nation-wide extradition warrant for felony kidnapping and are awaiting return to Colorado on their charges.
Upon arrest, the Deatherages’ eight children were placed into the custody of the Division of Family Services, along with the two juveniles who had been reported missing.
