
The Mountain Home High School volleyball team will be in front of the home crowd for its final match of the 6A-East Conference Tournament. The Lady Bombers will play for third place as they meet Jacksonville.
Mountain Home is currently 18-8 on the season. The second-seeded Lady Bombers suffered a five-set loss to Marion in Tuesday’s semifinals. Jacksonville is the number four seed in the tournament. The Lady Titans fell to top-seeded Jonesboro two nights ago.
Action at Bomber Gymnasium is scheduled for 5 p.m.
In high school basketball, Thursday will be night three of the Twin Rivers Classic at Norfork. Lead Hill plays a doubleheader against South Side-Bee Branch starting with the girls’ game at 4:00, St. Joe’s girls face Shirley at 7:00, and the Norfork boys take on St. Joe at 8:30.
The Bad Boy Mowers Classic gets back underway at Izard County High School in Brockwell. Action begins at 3:30 with a doubleheader between Pangburn and Abundant Life, Izard County’s girls play Concord at 5:30, the Hillcrest boys meet Concord at 6:30, and Viola has back-to-back games against Sloan-Hendrix at 7:30.
On the junior high level, Bergman hosts Alpena.
Two of Mountain Home’s junior high football teams will be on the road as they face Yellville-Summit. One of Mountain Home’s seventh grade squads will kick off at 5:30 followed by the freshmen contest.
Mountain Home will have two other junior high teams on a road trip to take on Melbourne. Mountain Home’s other seventh grade squad will start at 5:30, and the eighth grade game will follow.
Elsewhere, Marshall entertains Clinton, and Harrison is home against Greenwood.
