Dawn Lambert, who is charged with fighting with her mother, made an appearance in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday and had her bond lowered from $15,000 to $10,000 but was ordered to stay away from her relative if she was able to bond out of jail.

The 39-year-old Lambert, who is being represented by the Public Defender’s Office, was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center early this month after a deputy from the Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress at a residence along Sugar Ridge Terrace.

When the deputy arrived, he encountered a person identified as Lambert’s mother on a couch in the home with a swollen face and a bloody nose.

Lambert allegedly admitted she lost her temper after she had asked her mother to use her phone to call another relative. When the mother asked Lambert why she wanted to make the call, Lambert told her mother it was none of her business and an argument ensued. The confrontation escalated to the point where Lambert’s mother pushed her daughter, and Lambert was reported to have punched her mother in the face and on her body.

The deputy noted in his report Lambert’s mother’s face was swollen and there was dried blood on the mother’s chin. The older woman also reported  she was having difficulty breathing.

Lambert told the deputy she had “lost her cool” and went overboard in her reactions. She said her mother had pushed “very lightly” during the argument. Lambert was reported to have expressed remorse over the incident and apologized to her mother for what she had done. Lambert’s right hand was swollen, but she explained the injury to her hand took place when the altercation with her mother was over, and she had punched a wall inside the residence.

Lambert was ordered to reappear in Circuit Court on February 8th next year.
