
Volleyball, tennis, cross country and basketball make up the local Tuesday schedule.
The Mountain Home High School volleyball team will be in Greenwood for the start of the Class 6A State Tournament. The Lady Bombers will be paired with Sheridan in the opening round.
Mountain Home comes into the match at 19-8 on the season. The Lady Bombers are coming off a win over Jacksonville Thursday in the third place match of the 6A-East Conference Tournament. Sheridan is the sixth-seeded team from the West.
The first set gets underway at 4 p.m.
Three area schools will be in action in the second round of the Class 3A State Tournament at Hoxie. Bergman meets Lavaca at 4:00, Valley Springs faces Conway St. Joseph at 6:00, and Yellville-Summit takes on the host Lady Mustangs at 8:00.
Harrison will begin hosting the Class 5A State Tournament. The Lady Goblins’ opening match will be at 6:00 against Hot Springs.
Mountain Home has one athlete remaining for the final day of the Overall State Tennis Tournament at Burns Park in North Little Rock. Emily Heide will be matched up with Thea Rice of Hot Springs Lakeside at 10 a.m.
The Mountain Home High School cross country teams will be at home for the start of the postseason. The 6A-East Conference Meet gets underway at 3:30 on the high school campus.
In high school basketball, Cotter travels to Omaha, Flippin makes the trip to St. Joe, Bruno-Pyatt hosts Timbo, Viola entertains Lead Hill, Calico Rock is home against Concord, Izard County hosts Hillcrest, Valley Springs meets Kirby in Conway, Western Grove entertains South Side-Bee Branch, Jasper’s boys are home against Eureka Springs, and the Jasper girls meet Bay at Mountain View.
On the junior high level, Norfork heads to Mammoth Spring.
