The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid for improvements to a roadway in Newton County, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
The purpose of the project is to repair 0.3 mile of State Highway 7 that sustained landslide damage in Newton County.
Crouse Construction Co. of Harrison was awarded the contract at just under $1.9 million.
Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid-2018.
