A Mountain Home man operating a scooter was stopped by a Mountain Home Police officer Wednesday evening when he learned 51-year-old Jesse Vancleave’s driver’s license was suspended.
Mountain Home Police Chief Carry Manuel says Vancleave also had an active warrant for his arrest from Fulton County and a search warrant on file from past charges.
During a search of Vancleave, a substance field testing positive for methamphetamine was located. Post Miranda rights, Vancleave admitted to the substance being methamphetamine. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving on a suspended license, and a hold was placed on him for other agencies. Vancleave was taken to the Baxter County Detention Facility with his bond set at $3,210.
In January, Vancleave was arrested on felony drug charges following a traffic stop after officers noticed a vehicle driving erratically and left of the centerline.
Officers discovered Vancleave had a suspended driver’s license. They were given permission to search the vehicle and found a small amount of suspected methamphetamine, as well as two plastic straws containing a powder residue. Vancleave was booked into the county jail on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance, as well as other misdemeanor charges.
He was released the same day after posting a $2,500 bond. In June, Vancleave was given four years’ probation after pleading guilty to drug charges and traffic violations stemming from the traffic stop in early January.
