MH to host Searcy Friday for Senior Night

It’s week nine of the high school football season in Arkansas, and Mountain Home will celebrate Senior Night on Friday. The Bombers will play their final home game of the season as they meet Searcy.
Mountain Home comes into the game at 1-7 on the season and 1-4 in the 6A-East. The Bombers picked up their first win of 2017 last week after going to Little Rock and beating up on Hall. Searcy is currently ranked fifth in the Arkansas Associated Press’ Class 6A top five. The Lions improved to 6-2 and 3-2 last Friday as they routed Jonesboro by four touchdowns.
Mountain Home head coach Bryan Mattox says he’s looking forward to seeing a big crowd honor the seniors and to cheer on the Bombers.

The Senior Night activities at Bomber Stadium begin at 6:30. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com. Coverage begins at 5:30 with the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas High School Gameday.
Elsewhere in the 6A-East, sixth-ranked West Memphis travels to number ten Pine Bluff, Jonesboro hosts Hall, and Jacksonville entertains Marion.

Yellville-Summit will begin its season-ending two-game home stand this week. The Panthers are set to welcome Clinton to Marion County.
Yellville-Summit is 3-5 overall and 3-2 in the 3A-1. The Panthers are coming off an eight-point win over Mountain View in their regular season road finale. Clinton is the fourth-ranked team in the Class 3A top five. The Yellowjackets are 8-0 and 5-0 after a win over Marshall.
Kickoff at Panther Field is slated for 7:00.
Also in the 3A-1, Melbourne makes the trip to Green Forest, and Marshall is home against Mountain View.

Elsewhere on the local Arkansas schedule, Salem hosts Midland to complete its regular season, and Harrison heads to Alma.
There is one other matchup in the Arkansas Associated Press Top Ten as the two highest-ranked teams will meet. Number one Bryant hosts second-ranked North Little Rock.

In Missouri, it’s the second week of district play.
West Plains will be on the road for its semifinal game in the Class 4, District 5 playoffs. The Zizzers heads to Carl Junction.
Branson will be the visiting team as they compete in the semifinals of the Class 5, District 4 playoffs. The Pirates will travel to Lebanon.
Three area schools will take part in the semifinals of the Class 2, District 3 playoffs. Top-seeded Ava entertains Mountain View-Liberty, and Mountain Grove is home against Strafford.
Thayer will hit the road for its semifinal game in the Class 1, District 2 playoffs. The Bobcats make the trip to Sarcoxie.

In high school basketball, Norfork heads to Lead Hill, Flippin hosts Western Grove, Bruno-Pyatt travels to Eureka Springs, Viola makes the trip to Timbo, Izard County entertains eStem, St. Joe heads to Greers Ferry to take on West Side, Rural Special is home against Sacred Heart, Bergman will begin action in the Acorn Classic, Valley Springs travels to Alpena, and Omaha hosts Jasper.
