FBNCA provides free after school meals for kids and teens

The Food Bank of North Central Arkansas is participating in the At-Risk After School Meals Program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. Meals will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.Sites in Mountain Home will serve dinner until September 30th, 2018. The locations include the L.C. Sammons Youth Center at 1001 Main Street. Dinner will be served from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Donald W. Reynolds Library, at 300 Library Hill, will have dinner on Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Community Connections for Youth and Families Inc., at 312 Bomber Boulevard, will offer dinner Monday through Thursday from 3:00 to 5:30.

Other sites across the Twin Lakes Area include the Youth Bridge-Bergman School at 8949 AR-8 in Harrison. Dinner will be offered Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Youth Bridge-Bruno School in Everton, at 4754 AR-125, and Youth Bridge-Western Grove School, at 300 School Street in Western Grove, will both have dinner Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The Searcy County Library at 202 East Main Street in Marshall will serve dinner Monday through Saturday from noon until 5:30.

The Food Bank of North Central Arkansas, founded in 1982, is a private, non-profit 510(c)3 charitable food relief organization. The Food Bank distributes approximately 3 million pounds of food and other grocery products annually to independent community food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, back pack programs, summer and after school meal programs, and other special programs – touching the lives of an estimated 38,000 individuals each year throughout its nine county service area.
