Kaytlin Jones, a 2015 Mountain Home High School Career Academies graduate, has received an Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship through the support of Entergy.

Jones is an undergraduate student at Arkansas State University-Jonesboro seeking a degree in communication disorders. She is raising her 3-month old son Beckett in addition to her full-time class schedule.

The mission of ASPSF is to enable single parents to attain self-sufficiency through post-secondary education. Since 1990, ASPSF has awarded more than 41,000 scholarships in every county in Arkansas.

ASPSF seeks to make a positive difference in the lives of impoverished families by assisting single parents who are enrolled in college or technical programs and are seeking better-paying careers. The initiative focuses on both financial assistance and personal support in an effort to not only help improve the parent’s educational level and earning potential, but to also help parents improve the standard of living for themselves and their children.
