A juvenile has been arrested following an armed robbery at Day’s General Store in Oxford.

Izard County Sheriff Jack Yancey says a male subject reportedly came into the store on October 25 wearing a brown jacket, a camouflage scarf over his mouth and nose, brandishing a knife and demanding money and the store attendant’s phone.

The attendant said she first thought the act was a joke but quickly realized it wasn’t. The attendant gave the robber all of the money from the register and her phone. The robber then asked the attendant to come from behind the counter and stand half way to the front door.

The robber reportedly ran out the door and sped off in a vehicle with no license plate. An Izard County deputy located the vehicle on Pine Tree Lane in Oxford.

Sheriff Yancey says the juvenile subject was positively identified as being the store robber. He was charged with aggravated robbery and theft of property.
