
Football, basketball and cross country make up the local Friday schedule.
The season will come to an end for the Mountain Home High School cross country teams in Hot Springs. The Arkansas State Meet begins at 9 a.m. at Oaklawn Park. The Class 6A races begin with the boys at 2:00, and the girls’ race will be a half hour later.
The regular season comes to an end for Yellville-Summit as they celebrate Senior Night. The Panthers will renew the Battle of the Buffalo as they face Marshall in front of the home crowd.
Yellville-Summit is currently 3-6 on the season and 3-3 in the 3A-1. The Panthers began their current home stand last week with a loss to Clinton. Marshall is 0-9 and 0-6. The Bobcats were beaten by Mountain View last week.
Kickoff at Panther Field is scheduled for 7:00.
Elsewhere in the 3A-1, Melbourne travels to Greenland, Mountain View makes the trip to Clinton, and Green Forest heads to Elkins.
Also on the local Arkansas schedule, Harrison hosts Farmington.
There are two games pairing teams ranked in the Arkansas Associated Press Top Ten. Second-ranked Bentonville West entertains number eight Bentonville, and number four Bryant travels to seventh-ranked Conway.
The postseason continues in Missouri as district championship will be decided Friday.
Ava will have home field advantage for the title game of the Class 2, District 3 Playoffs. The top-seeded Bears will be home against Mountain Grove.
Thayer will be on the road for the championship contest of the Class 1, District 2 Playoffs. The Bobcats are set to make the trip to Pierce City.
In high school basketball, Cotter hosts Pangburn for Homecoming, Norfork heads to Hattieville to meet Wonderview, Flippin entertains Bruno-Pyatt for Homecoming, Viola makes the trip to Omaha, Mammoth Spring is home against Maynard, Calico Rock hosts Hillcrest for Homecoming, Timbo heads to Fox to take on Rural Special, Lead Hill travels to Bergman, Valley Springs entertains Nemo Vista, and Jasper is home against Kingston for Homecoming.
