COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) – For Cuonzo Martin, the 2015 protests on the University of
Missouri campus had a personal connection. Martin’s parents were born in St.
Louis, and he was raised just across the Mississippi River in Illinois. Martin
heads into his first year at Missouri with one of the top recruiting classes in
school history. He feels the buzz can help the campus heal from those racial
tensions two years ago. The season opener comes Friday against Iowa State.
