A Mountain Home man is currently in the Baxter County Detention Center on a drug charge. Thirty-three-year-old Matthew Wiley was arrested Monday on felony counts of possession of a controlled substance and a probation violation. His bond is set at $2,500.
According to a probable cause affidavit, a Mountain Home Police officer responded to a city residence and made contact with a suspicious male whom he recognized to be Wiley. Wiley was sitting on the ground when the officer arrived. He reportedly stood up and placed his arm behind the cab of a truck parked at the residence appearing to attempt to conceal something in the vehicle. After Wiley walked to the officer’s location, the officer checked the area where he placed his hand and located a plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine.
