Cotter teams win, Norfork boys fall to open Northark tourney

The North Arkansas College High School Basketball Tournament got underway Saturday at the Pioneer Pavilion in Harrison.

Cotter’s boys were able to advance to the quarterfinals. The Warriors defeated Lead Hill by a final of 61-41.

Yellville-Summit will be Cotter’s next opponent in the tournament. In a battle between Panthers, Norfork was eliminated by Yellville-Summit 62-35.

Flippin was also bounced from the boys’ bracket. The Bobcats were edged out by Alpena 64-61.

Jasper will be Alpena’s quarterfinal opponent on Thursday. The Pirates upset Marshall by a score of 59-57.

Bruno-Pyatt was one and done in the tournament. The Patriots ended up losing to Deer 82-51.

Cotter’s girls will join their male counterparts in the quarterfinals. The Lady Warriors also topped Lead Hill 53-39.

Flippin was eliminated from the tournament in the opening round. The Lady Bobcats fell to Bergman 57-32.
