The Lady Bombers knew a district championship would be hard to claim if they started 0-3 in the 6A/5A-2. An 0-3 start was never in the conversation as Mountain Home dominted Morrilton to win 54-31. Mountain Home had a good night shooting ball, hitting 11 three-pointers in the game. They did not commit their first turnover until late in the third quarter. They out-rebounded the Lady Devil Dogs 28-17. And most importantly, the got 30 points from players other than Hannah Pfiefer, the team’s leading scorer, who has been drawing lots of pressure from opposing defenses.
Pfiefer still led the way Friday night with eight three pointers to finish with 24 points.
The win snaps a four game losing streak as Mountain Home improves to 8-9 overall and 1-2 in the league.
Morrilton drops to 13-6 and 1-3.

In the boy’s game, Mountain Home did a great job on the boards and held off Morrilton for a 42-35 victory and is now tied with Greenbrier for the district lead. The game featured nine lead changes. The Bombers led by five at halftime but the Devil Dogs opened the second half with an 8-2 run to take the lead. Mountain Home would close the quarter with an 8-2 run and never trailed again.
David Wehmeyer led the Mountain Home attack with yet another double double, tallying 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Mountain Home improves to 8-9 overall and 3-0 in the 6A/5A-2 as they have won six of their last seven games.
Morrilton got 16 points and 10 rebounds from Donald Jones as they fall to 14-6 and 3-1.

The Mountain Home teams will return to action Tuesday with a trip to Beebe.
