A domestic battery incident allegedly involving a Marion County man, 52-year-old James Hudson, choking 33-year-old Emily Joanne Blandon, both of Yellville, has led to the duo being incarcerated.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed Friday, a Marion County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the Yellville post office February 16th to make contact with the victim of the suspected domestic battery. While en route to the post office, the deputy learned the victim had an active warrant for failure to pay.

When the deputy arrived, Blandon advised she had been assaulted, requested her injuries be photographed and asked the officer to locate her at a later time to take the report.

Blandon was advised the report needed to be filed immediately, and she attempted to leave. She was advised she could not leave due to the active warrant for her arrest.

At this point, officers from the Arkansas State Police and the Bull Shoals Police Department arrived, and Blandon was advised she was going to be arrested. She agreed to proceed with the photos and the report. A large amount of redness extending nearly all the way around her neck was observed, along with what she said was pie smeared all over her clothing and neck.

Blanton told officers the incident occurred when Hudson was not able to locate a bottle of whiskey. She said he waited until she began to eat an eclair pie and then began to choke her and shoved the pie down her face and body. She said while choking her, Hudson told her he was going to kill her.

Blanton said once Hudson stopped choking her, she was directed to get her things and leave.

Blanton was transported to the Marion County Detention Center, and Hudson was located at his camper trailer residence along Fourth Street in Yellville.

Hudson had what appeared to be a small amount of dried blood on his neck and appeared to be extremely intoxicated. When questioned about the incident with Blanton, Hudson advised she was lying and had instead assaulted him.

While being booked into the Marion County jail, Hudson told the officer he was injured at work earlier that day.

He was charged with felony counts of aggravated assault on a family or household member and terroristic threatening, as well as two misdemeanor counts.

His bond was set at $10,000.
