
The Mountain Home High School basketball team had its season ended Friday with a loss in the quarterfinal round of the Class 6A State Tournament at West Memphis. Brad Haworth has the details.

The defense did a great job against the high powered offense of Greenwood, but a horrible night at the free throw line and some costly turnovers late spelled doom for Mountain Home as they lost to the Lady Bulldogs 43-36. The Lady Bombers hit only 12 of 28 free throws for 43% from the line and six of their sixteen turnovers came in the fourth quarter.
Mountain Home, after going nearly five minutes without a field goal to start the game, had a 10-3 run in the first half and were up 17-13 at halftime. Greenwood would slowly chip away at the lead in the third quarter and the second half saw the teams exchange leads four times and there were five ties.
Greenwood was able to make 10 of 12 free throws in the fourth quarter the secure the win.
Hannah Pfiefer paced Mountain Home with 17 points. The Lady Bombers finish the year with a record of 15-16.
Greenwood wins their tenth straight game to improve to 21-9.
