A Theodosia man, 68-year-old Richard W. Clark, was seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident Monday morning after the vehicle he was driving traveled off the road and struck a tree. According to a report from Missouri State Highway Patrol, Clark was northbound on Highway 5, five miles north of Ava, when his vehicle went off the left side of the roadway.Clark was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the 8:55 a.m. accident.
He was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
A request for a condition report from Mercy was not answered by Tuesday morning.
