
One of the first announcements for candidacy on the Mountain Home City Council was made over the weekend. Paige Dillard Evans will seek the position of Ward 3, Position 1.
Evans has been a regional representative for the American Cancer Society and the Tobacco-Free Coordinator for the Marion County Hometown Health Coalition, and she has volunteerd with several other organizations over the past 18 years. She has also been active in securing and writing grants for communities where she has lived.
Evans states it would be an honor to serve the citizens of her hometown. She says the experience she has gathered over the years organizing events, leading volunteers and actively participating in local government will help her be a knowledgeable council member. Evans adds she believes the youth are the future of Mountain Home, and she would like to see them get more involved in local government.
Evans is a graduate of Mountain Home High School and attended Arkansas State University-Mountain Home and Harding University in Searcy. She is the mother of two grown sons and one daughter-in-law.
