Vehicle equipment violation leads to drug arrest

A Cotter man, 55-year-old Bryan Davis Vonalt, was booked in the Baxter County Detention Center Monday evening on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Vonalt’s vehicle was stopped by a Mountain Home Police officer for an equipment violation. Vonalt’s vehicle had fictitious tags, and he was driving without insurance and on a suspended driver’s license.

A search of the vehicle revealed several unused syringes and a loaded syringe with clear liquid in it field testing positive for methamphetamine.

Vonalt’s bond was set at $2,500, and he is set to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court to answer to the charges.
