Gregory Wiley of Berryville entered a guilty plea on charges of passing counterfeit money early this month and was given five years probation during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the 29-year-old Wiley went into a local liquor store and attempted to make a purchase using a fake bill. A store employee said the bill felt “waxy”. The employee kept the bill and asked Wiley to leave the store.
Wiley was able to pass one of the bills at another liquor store, according to investigative records. He was caught on surveillance video making the transaction.
