Steven James Sifford of Mountain Home was given 10 years in prison during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday after admitting to a number of drug-related charges.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the 47-year-old Sifford sold drugs to a person cooperating with law enforcement on a number of occasions last year — twice in January and once in both February and March.

The substance purchased from Sifford field-tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the probable cause affidavit filed in the case.

In Thursday’s court session, Sifford’s co-defendant in the cases, Tammy Santoro, was given 10 years probation for her part in the drug transactions. While prosecutors admitted Santoro had participated with Sifford in the drug transactions, it was determined in reviewing the evidence she played a lesser role than did Sifford.
