
A former elected official is seeking her old seat. Alesia Owen will run in the Republican primary for Marion County Assessor against incumbent Tonya Epps.
Owen served as the assessor from 2015 to 2016, and she says during that time, she implemented new policies and procedures to help the office run more efficiently and effectively. She says she believes in utilizing technology to improve convenience for Marion County’s constituents. She made real estate records available online for the residents and implemented online assessing for personal property and businesses.
Owen is the owner of Home and Ranch Realty in Yellville and has spent 28 years in the real estate industry as an agent, investor and principal broker. She is a Level 4 senior real estate appraiser and a Level 4 senior administrator with the Arkansas Assessment Coordination Department. Owen is a licensed principal broker, an instructor with the Arkansas Real Estate Commission and a member of the National Association of Realtors, Arkansas Realtors Association, North Central Board of Realtors, Marion County Cattlemen’s Association, Marion County Medical Reserve Corps and Mid-Marion County Rotary Club.
Owen is a lifelong Marion County resident and a graduate of Yellville-Summit High School. She and her husband Billy also raise beef cattle and horses on their Yellville farm. Alesia and Billy Owen have two children, Will Allen of Mountain Home and Robby Owen of Yellville, and three granddaughters.
