
Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) will host more than 300 Pinkston Middle School students on campus for a writing workshop Tuesday morning. ASUMH Director of Communications and Institutional Advancement Christy Keirn says students will begin arriving around 8:15 to 8:30 at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center’s Ed Coulter Performing Arts Center/Auditorium.Speakers from various professions will cover the importance of writing in their particular field.
After a greeting from ASUMH Chancellor Dr. Robin Myers, students will branch into the three rooms representing writing as a profession, medical/technical writing, and business/professional/educational/academic writing.
The day is arranged into three breakout sessions, lunch, and one final group session.
After lunch, ASUMH Criminal Justice Instructor Kurt Monroe will discuss writing in his field and will use a crime scene photo to direct students in writing a report.
