2 injured in 1-vehicle accident

An Isabella woman, 30-year-old Brittany Kohler, and a Pontiac woman, 53-year-old Lisa Luna, were both injured in a one-vehicle accident Sunday morning in Ozark County.

According to the report from Missouri Highway Patrol Corporal N.J. Britt, the accident occurred on Highway W in Pontiac when Luna traveling north failed to negotiate a curve, with her vehicle traveling off the right side of the roadway, striking an approach and overturning.

Kohler was transported by air ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment of injuries described as serious, while Luna was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center for moderate injuries. A hospital spokesperson says Luna was discharged the same day. Information was not available on Kohler at the time of this report.

The report notes both women were wearing seat belts at the time of the 10:10 a.m. accident. The vehicle the two were traveling in was totaled.
