Four people were arrested on drug charges Tuesday morning during a probation compliance home check at a residence on State Hwy 126 North.
Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says two probationers, 42-year-old Darren Newcomb and 51-year-old Bobbie Joe Nelson, reside at the home. Two women were also found at the residence, 37-year-old Sabrina Newborn of Clarkridge and 45-year-old Brandi Vanamberg of rural Gassville.
During a search of the residence by sheriffs investigators and officers from the Mountain Home Police Department and 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force, approximately 4.9 grams of powdered methamphetamine were found, as well as approximately 210 grams of a liquid substance testing positive for methamphetamine. Various items of drug paraphernalia, including smoking devices, syringes, butane lighters, scales, and mirrors, were also found.
In Newcomb’s bedroom officers found a .20 gauge shotgun. As a convicted felon, Newcomb is prohibited from possessing firearms.
All four persons were arrested and taken into custody. They were transported to the Baxter County Detention Center and each booked on one charge of possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, all felony offenses.
In addition, Newcomb was charged separately with felony possession of firearms by certain persons.
Bond was set at $20,000 each for Nelson, Newborn, and Vanamberg. Bond was set at $25,000 for Newcomb.
The four are set to appear before the circuit court to answer to the charges later this month.
