The Baxter County Quorum Court will consider a resolution expressing disapproval of the solid waste district fee assessed on Baxter County property owners when it meets for its regular monthly meeting Tuesday evening at 6:00.
In the March quorum court meeting, Justice of the Peace Gary Smith of Lakeview advised he planned to bring a resolution to the April meeting. The resolution is in opposition to the $18 annual fee against each residence and business parcel in the six-county Ozark Mountain Solid Waste District to pay the debt incurred in purchasing the NABORS waste hauling operation and the local landfill.
It was noted at the March quorum court meeting at least two other counties are considering the move. Baxter County Judge Mickey Pendergrass said in response, a resolution will not have any binding impact on a Pulaski County Circuit Court ruling leading to the $18 fee.
Three ordinances are on the agenda, all concerning disbursement of fees and funds.
The quorum court will meet in the second floor courtroom of the Baxter County Courthouse.
